I had a fantastic 5-night stay with my family at this wonderful resort! The beautiful beach and pool area were very nice, and the food selection was varied and tasty, especially the à la carte dining options. I was disappointed by the rocky beach, which felt different from what I expected in the photos. I'd definitely consider returning for another fun family vacation!

Welcome and check-in was very good. Even got a cocktail. The complex is huge and beautifully landscaped with many plants, fountains, sculptures etc.. Pool area with pool bar and release zone are heavenly. Beach with deck chairs under the palm trees are romantic and has a super Caribbean flair. The offer of the restaurants is rich and varied. The entire staff is friendly and courteous.
Double beds impractical for a married couple. TV was older and program quality and picture quality is not the best.

The facilities are spectacular. The complex is very comfortable and there are many activities to do without going out. The food is spectacular, the buffet restaurants and beach bars are delicious, the food is fresh, varied and very well seasoned; the restaurants that you have to book in the evening are also delicious even though it is difficult to book them. The rooms are good, not luxurious (for the price you're paying) but comfortable, clean and well equipped and all with access to nearby locations and beaches. In general terms the experience was spectacular it is an excellent hotel to spend with the family
As well as there are very friendly staff (especially the restaurant staff) there were other absolutely unpleasant and rude staff (especially the Mayan beach reception staff) surely because of the high volume of people and work, these people were not friendly, we had problems with registration and several other people in line also had problems, response is not adequate or friendly. cleaning of the rooms is about to improve, first morning they cleaned and did the minimum required cleaning, other 5 days they only half made the bed and nothing else. There must be a better method to make reservations for nightly restaurants, because people book eight nights in a row since they arrive and in our case we were only assigned a place to eat at 5PM

The stay at Barcelo was mostly pleasant, but the
Initial confusion with our room assignment dampened the experience. After sorting it out, the beach area was lovely and perfect for lounging, but I was disappointed with the vegetarian meal mishap at dinner.

All staff were friendly and helpful, the meals in the buffet room were delicious, our room was cleaned several times a day and we even used the laundry services. We had a wonderful time.
Paying extra to eat at other resturaunts within the hotel grounds, especially when we were not able to reserve seats at our own building.

We stayed for thanksgiving and will be back. Came here for 6 days, the hotel was upscale, it had stunning location next to So Close to the Beach and so about a hour drive away from Cancun. The breakfast was relatively cheap and amazing and offered a lot of amazing food: )

Just a top selection for a cursory stop in Xpu Ha with really good value. Beach access was nice but crowded, making it tough to find a spot. Be ready to book restaurants way in advance to avoid waiting for meals.

The room is very good. The mini-bar has beers, sodas, water,... The bath is well equiped
The food at the buffet is low-quality food and not very mexican. It was hot at the buffet because there's no AC. You don't have acces to the restaurants if you stay 2 nights. So 3 days eating at the buffet was very unpleasant. Also, the other customers at the buffet were very unpolite. On he other hand, the beach is very noisy with the animation team. There are very small shadows at the beach. The wifi isn't free and very expensive ($12/day), the towels cost $20/each if you lose it. Some free activities need a credit card as a caution (you can't just wear your bracelet). If you want to go to the restaurant it's $15/person... So IT'S NOT A PROPER ALL INCLUSIVE HOTEL. We also stayed at the Hotel Catalonia royal Tulum (2km away) and for the same price we've got a real all inclusive with very good food, a better swimming-pool, nicer hotel, and the hotel was more calm.

Cleanliness, activities, shows, staff service, luxurious Spa
Buffets and restaurants offer a very wide choice of dishes but the quality is often poor, especially buffets. Cold or heated dishes. Theme restaurants do not reflect the quality of the cuisine they are supposed to represent despite a great deal of staff effort.

We loved the beautiful beach and enjoyed thrilling activities at the Dressel Divers Club, including snorkeling and jet skiing. The resort offered a laid-back vibe, perfect for hanging out together. The new miniature golf course was a fun bonus too.
The service at the front desk was really slow, frustrating when we needed assistance.

The location is magnificent as it's close to several restaurants and buffets, So Close to the Beach and Playa del Carmen. Also, Cenote Cristalino is approx 10-15 minutes' walk from the venue.

The best was the gorgeous beach 🌊 Perfect for lounging all day! But it was frustrating getting dinner reservations. Everything was booked! Next time, I'll plan to reserve right at check-in!
